Winter Break, Spring Start Up

The start to 2014 has been a little different than past years. In the middle of March, my third son was delivered happy, healthy and full of good cheer. Welcome Baby Shannon!

baby 019 (Small) (2)   As you might guess, I have not been in the studio much January, February or March. Though I was perfectly content with my winter masterpiece (baby), I still felt a twinge of jealousy watching fellow artist friends go to wholesale shows in Washington and Philadelphia. So, business wise, I consider 2015 to be a build out year for getting my show on the wholesale road.

My first goal is to obtain a brand new booth fit for fine art shows. I have been eagerly wanting one for 3 years. Now is the time. Marketing and press materials will receive some revamping. And hopefully, I will create a few ads to run before the shows.

My second goal, is to refine the Whirly product line a bit further. Some ideas brewing are adding a few serving dishes to the mix. Graduated platters got a brief start last year. There are three sizes in any of these colors- red, orange, yellow, green and blue. I will continue to market these and see how they do. Also, folks ask for pasta bowls frequently. Now the question is, flat rim or no rim. Either way, pasta bowls will be here to stay.

The biggest question mark of all though, is how will Baby like the studio? After all, he is my newest protege.

I’ll keep you updated on that one.
